The Fox and hounds is a historic pub that sits at the heart of Llancarfan, an idyllic village in the costal county of the Vale of Glamorgan. Taken over in April 2025 there’s work under way to get a fresh lick of paint on the old building, refresh the accommodation and get the garden set for sunshine.

We remain open throughout and serve up proper tasty food, locally sourced and inspired by pub classics and delicious flavour combinations. Noted Wine, fizz and ale is always on offer with a big range of no and low.

Only 25 minutes from Cardiff, the pub is a great base to explore the Vale’s countryside and coastline by foot or bike, or just somewhere to escape the busy day to day if you just fancy kicking back by the stream with a cold drink and few bar snacks in the summer or a glass of something dark and warming with a hearty dish by the fire in the winter. Our eight comfy en suite bedrooms sit on the first floor of the pub, perfect for a night in the country.
